Ford Central Campus
Project Description
Ford Central Campus is a beautiful complex with exterior radiused façade elevation and interior courtyards which were made up of numerous structures all attached continuously. This facility is the new Research & Development facility for the Ford Motor Company. CES was initially retained to perform structural engineering on the exterior glass façade on this multi-faceted complex. The curtainwall also had large spans and was attached to secondary steel framing which spanned large distances as well. CES was further retained to design secondary steel support framing to support the high-span curtainwall systems back to the primary steel structure and to assist the Engineer of Record with additional design assistance on the design of the Main Wind Force Resisting System to withstand the larger wing loads from the curtainwall.
