Childress Engineering was founded In 1994 by Tony Childress with a vision to deliver innovative and reliable structural engineering solutions with a commitment to client-focused service. CES started as a structural engineering firm offering structural, curtainwall and residential engineering services with the motto of “Quality you Need with the Service you Deserve”.
We entered the international market with the Xiamen Towers project in China—our first step onto the global stage.
We expanded our services with the launch of our Consulting Department, offering deeper technical insights and expert guidance across projects.
We expanded our services with the launch of our Disaster Response Department after Tornadoes hit the Fort Worth Texas Area. Now offering engineering support when you need it most.
In 2001, we took a significant step in our growth by opening our Michigan office. This expansion marked our first major move beyond our original location—broadening our reach, strengthening client relationships, and setting the stage for the national presence we have today.
In 2004, CES celebrated our 10 Year Anniversary.
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina’s catastrophic landfall in 2005, our firm was mobilized as part of the nationwide engineering response effort. The storm caused unprecedented structural failure, flooding, and environmental contamination across the Gulf Coast. Our team provided rapid-deployment technical support focused on restoring safe conditions for communities, assessing critical infrastructure, and guiding long-term recovery planning.
As part of our continued growth and commitment to serving clients across the southern United States, we opened a new office in Austin, Texas. This expansion marked a significant step in strengthening our regional presence and enhancing our ability to deliver integrated architectural and engineering services throughout the Gulf and Central regions.
This year marked our firm’s 15th anniversary, celebrating a decade and a half of collaboration, innovation, and growth. Since our founding, we have expanded from a small team with a shared vision into a multidisciplinary practice serving clients nationwide. Our journey has been defined by a commitment to design excellence, technical precision, and lasting partnerships.
Childress Engineering Services marked its 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of growth, innovation, and dedication to delivering trusted structural engineering and design solutions.
The same year we Childress Engineering celebrated our 25th Year Anniversary, Childress Engineering expanded into Southern California with the acquisition of SC Wright, a well-established consulting firm based in San Diego. Known for their strong local presence and deep expertise in forensic construction consulting and expertise, SC Wright brought regional knowledge and high-quality service that aligned perfectly with our commitment to excellence.
